I have had many visitors: Curt, Darlene, Mary, Bev, Mom, Kent, Dave, Melissa, Kay (Jose in spirit), Meg Larry and Jeanne. Each visit is a wonderful lift in my spirit, and a taste of real life.
I have had several Skype visits (and now FaceTime) with far off family and those who are not 100% healthy or may have been in contact with young children.
I have had mail delivered every day with cards and gifts and goofy packages.
There have been txt and calls and messages and email and and and..
There has been so many behind the scene coordination efforts I know I will never fully appreciate or understand. Humbling to say the least.
Although it is overwhelming, I am sure these forces are the ones driving me toward being a quickly healing patient.
So.. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. It's working!
The staff is amazing. They are kind and thorough. They are attentive, busy and patient at the same time. They answer all my questions and offer support and encouragement at every turn.
There is so much I want to do for the staff, but my hands are bound.
So..
Here is my thought. The floor pulls blood and platelets from a specific source for me. If you feel you can donate, it would be a great help. Below are the instructions. Maybe we can get a neighborhood carpool to share rides. The platelet donation takes about 2 hours and you can donate every 8 days. Shelf life is only 5 days, which is why they are always in need.
The closest location is here on peach tree dunwoody road. Call 404-459-8744 and they will make an appt for you.
In addition, if you have some clothing or other donations you would usually send to Goodwill, please consider having American Kidney Services come get your stuff. (Tax deductible!)
