While diving, I used a LOT more air than usual. Turns out that was because my red blood cells were well below normal, which makes me anemic. The red blood cells carry oxygen to the body, and I wasn't getting enough. It also makes sense that just before I checked in to the hospital my heart was racing under the lightest activity trying to get additional oxygen into my system. Mystery solved.
So, today my blood numbers came back and my platelets held at 22. So I got a small bag of fluids and headed home.
Big thanks to Bev for driving both days! She also solved my shower problem and gifted me two lottery tickets. I always said I would quit my job if I won the lottery. It now being a patient is my full time job and I'm not quitting that.
Hey! Guess what I am doing tomorrow... Clinic!
