Then about a week later it it was reduced to blood draw at noon at midnight.
Today I was told only need a blood draw at midnight only. Yay. It's not like it's a big deal, just an inconvenience.
It's still hard to sleep, but I am now used to sleeping in 2 hour increments. I have been able to get back to sleep quickly when they come to get vitals and weigh me at 4 am. I had always been one who cannot get back to sleep - that's over. The always say hospitals are not for getting rest. Ain't that the truth!
I think I have the routine down now: blood draw at midnight, weigh+vitals at 0400 and 1600, nurse check up and tech vitals at shift change 0730 and 1930. Meals are at 0820, 1220, and 1720. Plus 3 separate visits from a nurse practitioner, oncologist, and the nephrologist when they do rounds.
I have gotten to know many nurses and techs. They work in pairs for 12 hour shifts and they check on me several times a day. And they are amazing. Everyone is positive and uplifting. It goes without saying each one is knowledgeable and more than willing to answer my questions with patience and compassion. I think the world of everyone I have met. It makes me want to get out and walk and say hi. They have been called to this line of work and excel in caring for us. Angels.
To top it all off, another gorgeous sunset.
'Night Y'all !
