I am feeling great. 100% normal. Like pre-illness normal. Tomorrow I get another port installed. This one will be in my chest instead of my arm. It will be a hassle to shower, but oh so much easier for daily blood draws and whatever fluids or infusions we may need.
I didn't think I was a vain person, but I guess I am. It's difficult for me to look in the mirror and see the changes that have occurred. You know what I mean... Baldness, wrinkles, bags under my eyes, loss of eyelashes, weirdo eyebrows, etc. It's fascinating to see what is happening to the hair. It's breaking off and falling out at the same time. Now, I know it's all temporary. So don't pity me too much. Thursday the 16th is my last chemo and radiation so the hair will begin growing back. Until then, I just won't look in the mirror. There. Problem solved. Dexter still loves me. He is always VERY close.
Wonder where my hair was parted....
There are also changes in my skin. I am starting to get dry skin and needing to wear lotion even though I am very well hydrated. But... I am not allowed to wear scented lotion, only something like lubiderm or aquafor or eucerin for sensitive skin. Really? I can't wear my Bath and Body Works lotions? Sad. I have a few of those.
Don't worry... I bought them at a deep discount, 75 to sometimes 90% off. I just couldn't resist. But now that I see them lined up, I know it's a bit much... It's a very good thing I cannot go shopping. It may take me a while to get through this stash.
Cool visitor today.
Then I was surprised by human visitors too. Bev, Beverly and Linda stopped by. That was fun. Bev brought the rest of the bandannas to sell at the reunion, and Beverly brought a gift. Now I have a lunch bag and some glam items. Thanks!
The tea and mug were a gift from Sandy. Thank you!
And thanks go out to Arizona to Kris and Phil for the dried fruit. Beneath it is a convertible wooden platter/bowl. Very cool.
Although I didn't have all the back pieces cut out, I sewed up 2 of the 4 pillow shams. They came out ok.
Tomorrow I go under sedation for the first time. I have sent many dogs in for anesthesia, and know the rules: no food after 8, no water after midnight. I had better pack a lunch! I am hungry already!
